Mr Sims Quintet is a band obsessed with everything Jazz. Playing Swing, Bebop, Blues, Latin, and Fusion Jazz, their repertoire includes material from the Fifties to the present day, including names such as Cole Porter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Dave Brubeck, Wes Montgomery, John Coltrane, Roy Hargrove and many more.
With about two thirds of their set instrumental and the rest vocal, they are a versatile band that can fill a dance floor with funky, modern Jazz or provide sophisticated lounge music for a more relaxing evening.
The band’s line up consists of:
Ayodele – female vocalist
Ross Dods – vocals and bass
Steve Taylor – trumpet, trombone, keyboard and bass
Lyndsay Gould – alto and tenor Saxophones
Dan Field – Electric Guitar
Thane Mandin – Drums / Anthony Price – Drums
All members of the band are professional music teachers and provide all their own equipment including PA.
