SWEET SISTER are a versatile five piece band based in Mandurah WA, brought together by the love of playing live music, played the old way – by a full band with full sound, covering music from the Angels, Pink, Hoodoo Gurus, Divinyls, Cold Chisel, Katy Perry, Sheryl Crow, INXS, Gloria Gaynor and ELO – to name a few.
SWEET SISTER have done a wide variety of work – from playing countless weddings, parties, Pub Gigs, etc. through to corporate gigs – such as playing at the University Of WA for a couple of Solaris fundraisers, as well as some work for CSBP Limited, Weschef, Wesfarmers Ball at the Crown Casino, The WA Autism Society, Peel Health, also at the Tahira Gale benefit concert at Rushton Park Football Oval in Mandurah, the Quindanning Picnic Races, the Waroona Agricultural Show Relay for Life, Sparky’s picnic, City of Mandurah New Years Eve Celebrations on the Eastern Foreshore and the Smart St Mall Parties in Mandurah.
SWEET SISTER have received nothing but praise from their audiences, the dance floors are always full and the music is always pumping.
Band members are:
Cassandra Sweeny: charming, attractive, versatile vocalist – Cass can sing anything from Adele to Tina Turner, she has a strong voice with good harmonies. Cass also does a considerable amount of Solo work in the Peel Region.
Bruce Angus: Keyboards – a quality trained musician with a flair for Jazz and all things music, Bruce has been involved in many musical productions at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, also in Perth and Kalgoorlie.
Peter Nessfield: on lead guitar vocals and backing vocals – Peter started playing with the band Rock It in 1978, moving on to Fullhouse in the 80’s, then with Beatles, Rolling Stones, CCR and Monkeys tribute band Backbeat, followed by Blues Band Bluetonics, Funk Bands Methyl Ethel and The Fabulous Keytones, also American style Jazz with Mango Marmalade, Peter has returned to radio covers with Sweet Sister and is loving it.
Darren Piggott: Drums/Percussion – with years of experience in all types of music, Darren is a very solid performer, there’s not much he can’t do.
Frank Longo: Bass Guitar/Vocals – with lots of experience, Frank is a powerful versatile performer with strong vocals and driving bass, who has toured the state extensively with 80’s bands, Silver, Blackwater and Childs Play.
Together these five musicians form a tight solid unit, building on their reputation for being one of the best “Cover” bands in the Peel region, backed up with a good PA System, Sound Engineer, lighting, special effects and full black curtains, they are able to do most types of shows, both indoors and out.

Being an x muso myself. I can vouch for Frank Longo. I played in a band with him back in 1987, during our time in Port Hedland. Every Friday night at the Esplanade Hotel. Nice to see he is still doing it all these years later.
